Katherine Reay has lived all across the country and Europe and has just moved with her family to Chicago. She is a writer, wife, mom, runner, and, most randomly, a tae kwon do black belt. Her debut novel "Dear Mr. Knightley" (ThomasNelson/HarperCollins) was be released last November. It is a contemporary story with a dash of Jane Austen and other nineteenth century writers thrown in for the fun of it.

Katherine Reay recommends
Recipe for a Charmed Life (2024)
Rachel Linden
"Completely charming! Take a spunky heroine, add a swoon-worthy, orange-rubber-overall-wearing-oyster farmer, throw in a dash of the real-life messiness we all understand, and sprinkle a dusting of Linden's signature magical realism, and you've got the recipe for a delightful story you can't put down. I giggled, I sighed, and I got swept away from the first page in Paris to the final moment in the Pacific Northwest's Friday Harbor."
The Invincible Miss Cust (2022)
Penny Haw
"An amazing story! The Invincible Miss Cust introduces readers to Aleen Cust, Britain and Ireland's first female veterinary surgeon, and we are better for the acquaintance. Haw's descriptive prose and deft characterizations lead us through Cust's remarkable life, setbacks and triumphs, and leaves us in awe of her perseverance, determination, and loyalty."
