Russell is a British writer, ex-Chairman of the Crime Writers Association, and author of some 20 books. Recent novels include the co-written theatrical bio 'Stories I Can't Tell', 'Exit 39' and 'Doctor Kristal'. He also has a Victorian strand, with titles like 'Victorian Romances', 'Victorian Women Writers', and 'The Pocket Guide to Victorian Writers & Poets' and its companion, 'The Pocket Guide to Victorian Artists & Their Models'. An earlier novel,'The Exhibitionists', was set in and around the Victorian London art world (from the burning down of Parliament to the Great Exhibition). 'Doctor Kristal' and 'Requiem for a Daughter', set in the build-up to the 2012 London Olympics, are his most recent crime books.
