Semiosis (2018)
(Semiosis Duology, book 1)
Sue Burke
"A gripping story of colonization and biological wonders."
thumb
Starlings (2018)
Jo Walton
"Jo Walton’s delightful collection, Starlings, runs the gamut from homemade fairy tales to hard-boiled cloned-Jesus detectives (just wait for the shaggy dog); to a play with figures out of Irish myth, and a talking dragon; to a selection of her fantastic poems. It’s the kind of collection you can glide through, often while laughing out loud."

Standard Candles (1996)
Jack McDevitt
"Jack McDevitt is one of those rare science fiction writers capable of taking the tropes of the field - from war and the military to alien contact to scripture vs. science - and breathing wonderful life into them. He's always a pleasure to read."
