At the same time as a convention of pro-life groups convenes in Chicago, a bomb explodes near a downtown health clinic killing several and wounding many others. Among the wounded is high school teacher and clinic volunteer Tom Mason. While Tom lies in a coma in the hospital, his lover, professional baseball player Scott Carpenter, comes to suspect that the bombing was timed to cover up the fact that Tom was the real intended victim. With the death toll mounting and threats to both Scott and Tom increase, it becomes increasingly apparent that if they don't find the killer, it's only a matter of time before the killer finds them.
